Circa 1850 - Features one suite with
whirlpool bath, one suite suitable for 2-4 guests with a private bath and
fireplace, and one room for 2 with a private bath. A river view and full
breakfast are provided. Mid-week discount packages are offered. Call ahead
for a courtesy Amtrak pick-up. Mary Kolbe has been an innkeeper for 15
years and has many guests returning year after year to her historic home
on the Riverfront. Some Holidays and Festivals including
Maifest and Octoberfest require a 2 night minimum.

Facing the Missouri River which is
just a stones throw away, is the Eitzen House that has withstood the
changes of time. The Eitzen House was built by Charles Eitzen,
a councilman and shop keeper, in 1850. The house has all of the
original woodwork, floors and 12 foot ceilings, all built with fine
German workmanship. |
Mary Kolbe is the innkeeper.
Her first floor contains Mary's parlor for her guests to use. It
has a marble fireplace, high ceilings, and deep set six over six pane
windows. An oriental carpet is on the floor and the walls have
original art work. The furnishings include a huge walnut
armoire, an antique drop-front desk, a pine secretary bookcase and a
burled antique parlor table |

The Blue Room
The Blue Room has an oriental carpet, an Eastlake Queen size
bed, night stand with lamp, a wing chair upholstered in blue stripe,
an antique library table and parlor chair. |

Three of the walls are solid blue beneath a chair rail and
a floral print above it. There is a private bath.

The Eitzen Suite
Sitting
The sitting room of the Eitzen Suite is furnished with
oriental rug, 1920's sofa, coffee table, a pair of burgundy wing
chairs, antique wardrobe and an iron day bed. There is a
fireplace with an antique mantel clock. |

Bedroom
The bedroom is furnished with an antique fainting couch, a
king size bed, a walnut butler's desk, a wig stand
dresser with a collection of Mary's china and porcelain. A
private bath has a shower

The
South Wing Sitting
The sitting room is furnished with an antique desk, a pair
of wind chairs upholstered in a crewel pattern, a chaise lounge and a
Chinese document cabinet lacquered in black and gold with raised
figures. There are three shuttered windows overlooking a gazebo
and garden. |

South Wing Bedroom
The bedroom has an Oriental carpet and walls papered in a
teal green with black stripes. There is a queen size wrought
iron bed, an upholstered wing chair, a lamp table and lamp and a cedar
chest. There is also a private bath.

Full Breakfast
The breakfast area has a pedestal table with seating for
ten people and an antique walnut step back cupboard that is very
unusual. A full breakfast of meat, eggs, fried potatoes, fresh
bakery goods, orange juice, fresh fruit, and coffee or tea is served
in the first floor kitchen. |
