Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. Show runs until 4:00

Sausage Making 101 September 19th,
2015 Hermann Wurst Haus
Learn, hands-on, the German tradition of sausage making. Join
two-time hall of famer Wurstmeister
Mike Sloan for this VIP event that's both informative and
entertaining. Mike will show you the ropes of
sausage making and cover topics such as, mixing and grinding
techniques, ingredients, types of casings,
safe handling, smoking and cooking times and much more. Class is by
reservation only, will begin at 10
am and 2 pm and will last approximately 2 - 21⁄2 hours. Tickets are
$49 per person and includes a beer
and bratwurst tasting, 2 pounds of your sausage and a Wurst Haus
goody bag. Participants receive
10% discount on in store purchases that day. Attendance is limited

Hermann Farm Fourth Annual Country Fair,
Stable & Old forge & Wagon Werks on Guttenburg St, 10am to
4pm. Tours, exhibits and displays of early rural
life skills, all of which represent the varied talents and
expertise of the German settlers to this region. Cast
iron cooking will take place under the oak trees at the
Sesquicentennial Park with a variety of foods prepared to represent
a meal hosted for an old time threshing crew. For $2.50
guests can get a sampler plate of hearty foods prepared over (and
under) hot coals by the Hollensteiners and Friends. The
Montgomery Threshers will participate by bringing an old steam
engine, threshing machine, old plows, hit and miss engines, along
with collections of rural farm equipment. A small petting zoo
with farm animals will also be part of the day's festivities. A
broom maker from Warrenton will exhibit his craft, you'll meet a
blacksmith at work at the forge and apple butter making will fill
the air with the scent of harvest and wood smoke. Demonstrations
and Exhibits will be inside the Gutenberg Stable and the Old Forge
and Wagon Werks as well as the Hofgarten. Antique buggies,
old sleighs, and horse drawn conveyances will also be part of the
permanent exhibits at the Stable and Old Forge
locations.
Corn Husk dolls, the use of indigo as a dye plant, the Hermann
Farm's Friendly Loom, Jams and Jellies and Pickles,
Clydesdale work horses and Missouri Mules, Basketry,
Primitive Crewel Work framed in old barn wood, Braided Rugs,
Beekeeping, Weaving and Spinning, a Seamstress making Christening
Gowns, Wood Carving, Soap Making, Quilting,
Hand Tooled Saddlery and Tack, Fiddlers, Rick Rack and Gingham
Apron Exhibit, Scherenschnitte and Springerle, beekeeping, and Rope
Making.
